Context
Labplan supplies specialist laboratory equipment to pharmaceutical, healthcare and research customers in Ireland.
They already used Salesforce Sales Cloud. But products and pricing lived in spreadsheets and Access databases. Every quote meant looking things up by hand, and only a few people knew where everything was.
What we did
- Product catalog. Products moved out of spreadsheets and Access into one governed catalog in Salesforce.
- Pricing. Prices are maintained in Revenue Cloud, so the right price applies on every quote.
- Guided configuration. Reps pick products step by step, without looking anything up.
- Proposal generation. Proposals are created from the quote in Salesforce, ready to send.
- Automation. The lookups and copy-paste work that slowed every quote are gone.
Results
- One catalog instead of spreadsheets and Access databases
- Proposals in a few clicks, created directly from Salesforce
- Consistent pricing across the whole sales team
- Strong adoption, including from colleagues they expected to resist the change
Quoting no longer depends on the few people who knew where everything was.
Salesforce, with pricing outside it
Products and prices lived in spreadsheets and Access databases. Only a few people knew where to look.
Revenue Cloud, set up around how they sell
Everything in one place
From products to proposal in a few clicks
by the whole sales team.
Including colleagues they expected to resist the change. The automations won them over.
New to Revenue Cloud? What people ask us
What does Revenue Cloud cover?
Our pricing lives in spreadsheets. Is that a problem?
How long does an implementation take?
Will our sales team actually use it?
Do we need a Salesforce team to run it?
